Tips and Tricks

Another way of easily transforming the look of a room is by changing the lamp shade.  Most lamps are sold with a plain canvas shade in beige, white or black, right? Try switching to a different color or why not get a fabric or wallpaper of your choice and have a professional cover the existing one?  Maybe you can even DIY? See how it instantly picks up the mood of the room.

Matteo Says The Darndest Things

Matteo loves watching Word World on Disney Junior.  I let him watch it because, aside from the educational value, I love how pretty and colorful it is! 

In this show, they spell out words a lot.  The characters and objects are even cleverly drawn out as spelled. They always have a portion wherein they build a word by connecting letters then it animatedly transforms to the object.

I guess Matteo has gotten so used to this that he thinks its how it is in real life.  Last night, he was holding my sisters pillow which had the word DREAM printed on it and said "D...R...E...A...M..." then he underlined the world and said "Pillow". I started laughing, then he said "Clap your hands, Mama. I did a good job!"

My Junior Masterchef

Matteo has taken a liking to playing pretend chef because he sees me watching cooking shows all the time.  My mom once asked me why I watch those all the time when I don't really cook and my answer was (without meaning to sound rude) "Dad watches basketball all the time, but he doesn't play".  I don't know about you, but it relaxes me!

I saw this really nice modern & unisex play kitchen and thought that it is actually very doable since one of his godmothers is in the modular kitchen business. :)  If only we had extra space...

Camera Whore

Whenever Matteo gets his hands on an iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch, he looks for the camera apps installed and takes pictures of anything and everything.  Earlier, he used the PhotoBooth app in my moms iPad and took 327 (i know, right?)  photos of himself!

And since I didn't know how to delete it all at once, without affecting the other photos, I had to do it one by one.  I saved some of the nice ones though:

I can actually have one printed out on canvas for his future room or something.
